Newspaper "Die Zeit": Wistleblower software published as Free Software

"Die Zeit", Germany's biggest weekly newspaper, introduced a "digital postbox" [1], which enables people to leak documents to the newspaper. They published this as Free Software [2]. First the software makes the data anonymous, by removing metadata and other information from the files. Then the GnuPG encrypted data will be sent to the journalists, who will check the information, and see if they make a story out of it. The software also provides a kind of anonymous postbox, to interact with the the wistleblower. Campus Party in August in Berlin

404s and unclosed but fixed bugs in the PDF readers bug list

Greetings, I have been taking looks at <https://fsfe.org/campaigns/pdfreaders/buglist.en.html>, and I have discovered that quite a few URLs once reported as bugs do not resolve (404) any more, or do not contain any proprietary PDF reader advertisements. This seemed to be especially common for German institutions. If someone has time, please, take a look at the bug list, and either find a new URL containing a bug for such institutions, or being unable to do so, close the bug. Debate on Free Software at EC

After triggering changes at home [1] recently, basque country officials, free software supporters and free software companies have inyected a proposal [2] about free software releases by the public sector in a EC debate about open data. The rationale -similar to the one that keeps Europe free of software patents - relies on the idea that software is yet another information format. For the moment, most of the comments are originated in Spain. It would be great to have tons of comments from other parts of Europe supporting the innitiative. Please, help spread the word. Free Radio and Free Software

Dear list, my name is Nils Brock. I have been working at the interface between free radio and free software during the last years. I would like to know if anybody on this list is also working conceptually or practically on the production, streaming and digital transmission of radio based on free software. Personally I will be working with free and community media during the next years in Brazil. It would be nice to get in touch with people working on similar topics in Europe.
