1. Concepto de la FSFE
En el proceso de mejora de la sección "Acerca de" del sitio web, se ha añadido una página que explica la el concepto que de sí misma tiene la FSFE. Recomendamos a todo el que esté interesado en el trabajo de la FSFE que lea esta página, ya que explica la filosofía que hay tras la FSFE.

2. ¿Está feliz Microsoft de que la FSFE esté incluida en su proceso de apelaciones?
Como se mencionaba en el boletín de Julio, la Comisión de la UE invitó a la FSFE a apoyar su posición en el juicio de Microsoft.Handesblatt, el periódico económico más influyente de Alemania, informó que Microsoft escribió una carta de dos páginas al Tribunal Europeo intentando argumentar que la FSFE no debería estar involucrada. Cuando Handesblatt sacó a la luz este asunto con Microsoft, su portavoz negó que tal intento se hubiese llevado a cabo, y que Microsoft cree que la presencia de terceras partes será beneficiosa para el caso. No se hicieron comentarios sobre si esto tenía alguna relación con la petición por parte de Microsoft de que las terceras partes en apoyo de la Comisión deberían pagar los abogados de Microsoft.
3. FSFE interviene en el Tribunal Europeo
Mientras tanto, Carlo Piana y Jeremy Allison realizaban la primera declaración de la FSFE; también representan al equipo Samba en este juicio. Mientras explicaban por qué Microsoft debe revelar las especificaciones de los protocolos de red utilizados en las redes MS-Windows para permitir la libre competencia, aclararon también que no solicitan a Microsoft que publique el código fuente de sus sistemas operativos Windows. La audiencia continuará el 1 de Octubre y la decisión final debería hacerse pública hacia el final de Octubre de 2004.
4. FSFE en la Ars Electronica
Durante la Ars Electronica 2004 e Linz, Austria, Georg Greve participó en una charla centrada en la "comunidad digital" junto con Lawrence Lessig. Previamente se celebró la ceremonia del premio "Netvision" , que se otorgó a la organización "Creative Commons".
5. GNU/Linux World Expo en Milan, Italia
La FSFE presentó un stand en la GNU/Linux World Expo en Milan, y Stefano Maffulli dió dos charlas en ese evento, presentando las actividades d ela FSFE. Muchas empresas contactaron con el personal de la FSFE allí presente, para expresar su interés sobre la publicación de su software bajo una licencia Libre, y pidieron ayuda al efecto. El Software Libre Comercial se ve más y más como una oportunidad de negocio realista.
6. FSFE en el Congreso de las Naciones Unidas sobre Comercio y Desarrollo (UNCTAD)
Georg Greve participó en el Encuentro de Expertos sobre Software Libre en la Conferencia de Naciones Unidas sobre Comercio y Desarrollo (UNCTAD), en Génova, Suiza. En el panel de perspectivas económicas sobre el Software Libre, habló sobre el Software Libre y su papel en el progreso de la sociedad de la información, en particular en los paises en desarrollo.
7. Disponible la lista de distribución de comunicados de prensa en español
