1. De OMPI a OMRI
Con el objetivo de respaldar la Declaración de Ginebra, un grupo de organizaciones declararon su apoyo a la idea de una "Organización Mundial de la Riqueza Intelectual" para sustituir a la OMPI. Esta organización buscaría nuevas preguntas y respuestas, no solamente la aplicación cuidadosa de la vieja herramienta consistente en conceder monopolios limitados sobre el conocimiento.

2. Via Libre se convierte en organización asociada
Fundación Vía Libre, una organización de Softare Libre en Argentina, se convirtió en organización asociada de la FSFE. Esto es la culminación de una larga y productiva historia de cooperación entre las comunidades Europea y Latinoamericana del Software Libre.
3. FSFE en la LWE en Frankfurt
La FSFE estuvo otra vez presente con un stand en el LWE en Frankfurt, Alemania, donde dos miembros de Wilhelm Tux, la organización asociada a FSFE en Suiza, se unieron al equipo del stand.
4. Otras apariciones públicas
En un congreso llamado "E-Südtirol" en Bozen, Italia, Georg Greve habló sobre "autonomía y libertad de conocimiento en la sociedad". También participó en varios talleres en el mismo evento.
Poco después, Georg Greve participó en el congreso "Zukunftsforum IT" en Berlín, organizado por el Handelsblatt, el periódico económico más influyente de Alemania, para hablar sobre las visiones de futuro del Software Libre.
Un poco más tarde, en Evora, Portugal, Georg Greve dió una breve presentación y participó en una mesa redonda en el congreso aLANtejo organizado por los estudiantes de la universidad local. También tuvo la oportunidad de reunirse con varias personas de la Comunidad del Software Libre de Portugal, en particular de la organización asociada ANSOL, e intensificar la cooperación entre la FSFE y el movimiento portugués del Software Libre.
Hacia fin de mes, Georg Greve ofreció el discurso de apertura del evento BerLINux en Berlín, Alemania.
5. FSFE observa al Municipio de Pavia
El municipio de Pavia anunció que ayudará a construir una estructura de "backoffice" para las administraciones públicas locales italianas. Tal paquete estará financiado por bancos privados, desarrollado por una empresa italiana, y distribuido por Microsoft. La FSFE consiguió ser invitada como observador en la mesa técnica, donde se definirán las especificaciones del proyecto. La Sección Italia seguirá de cerca la cuestión e informará a la comunidad italiana.
6. Un integrador de sistemas italiano, Engineering, elige la GPL GNU
La GPL GNU ha sido elegida por uno de los mayores integradores de sistemas italianos, Engineering (www.eng.it), para el lanzamiento de su estructura de aplicaciones SPAGO. Engineering trabajó con el FSFE para garantizar que la licencia esté bien aplicada y también pidió consejo en la gestión del proyecto. Aunque el software cae en la Trampa Java, la Sección Italia ayudó gustosamente y espera que más empresas pidan apoyo a la FSFE para sus negocios.
