weitgehend unbemerkt von der Öffentlichkeit plant die EU-Kommission einen Anschlag auf die Meinungsfreiheit: Sie will, dass Konzerne künftig eine bevorzugte Behandlung ihrer Fotos, Videos und Texte in Datenleitungen kaufen können.
Gehen die Pläne am Donnerstag unverändert durch das Europaparlament dürften bald wenige Konzerne entscheiden, was wir Bürger/innen im Internet zu sehen und zu lesen bekommen. Viele Abgeordnete noch unschlüssig.
Ich habe gerade einen Appell für Netzneutralität an die EU-Abgeordneten unterschrieben. Unterzeichne bitte auch Du den Campact-Appell:

Sehr geehrte Abgeordnete des Europaparlaments,
die EU-Kommission will den Wettbewerb im Internet einschränken.
Nur große Internet-Anbieter und Konzerne wie die US-Dienste Facebook und Google würden von einer Lücke in der Verordnung zur Netzneutralität profitieren. Sie sollen sich eine bevorzugte Behandlung ihrer Inhalte in Datenleitungen kaufen können.
Das würde die Meinungsfreiheit, die Angebotsvielfalt und unseren Zugang zu Informationen gefährden. Und es ginge auf Kosten von kleinen, innovativen Anbietern. Insbesondere Start-Up-Unternehmen aus der EU hätten keine Chance mehr, sich durchzusetzen.
Sichern Sie die Vielfalt und den Wettbewerb im Netz! Sorgen Sie dafür, dass die EU keine Sonderrechte für Internet-Konzerne einführt!
