Danke für den Hinweis. Mir scheint, dass hier einige "Linke" entdecken, was schon lange bekannt ist: Freie Software kann auch sehr marktorientiert sein. Das macht sie aber nicht schlechter, es sei denn mensch ist gegen Marktwirtschaft allgemein.

Die Tatsache, dass in den Ankündigungen ständig mit "Eigentum" handiert wird, läßt mich fürchten, dass es nicht viele neue Erkenntnisse geben wird. Auch die "Lobhudelei" in den Medien ist mir bisher nicht aufgefallen, denn "die Medien" wissen oft viel zu wenig über Freie Software und berichten auch kaum. Meist geht es um einzelne Technikvorteile.

Hm, du solltest das Buch von Sabine Nuss lesen. Sie ist durchaus keinem Missverständnis aufgesessen und versteht Freie Software ziemlich gut. Nur tut sie das mit einem bestimmten Blick - nämlich kritisch in Bezug auf das bürgerliche Eigentum - und das ist doch auch legitim, oder? Sie erklärt ihren Ansatz sehr genau und befasst sich ausführlich mit der historischen Herausbildung des modernen Eigentumsverständnisses inkl. des sog. "geistigen Eigentums" (der IMHO stärkste Teil in ihrem Buch).

Danke für den Hinweis! Dort steht u.a. "Free software has nothing to do with a political system.". Das stimmt m.E. auch für die Wirtschaft (wenn das nicht ohnehin gemeint war). Deswegen kann Bernhard auch schreiben: "Freie Software kann auch sehr marktorientiert sein". Das kann sie, aber sie muss nicht. Dass "free" nicht den "Preis" meint, gilt sozusagen in beide Richtungen: Man kann (Dingen und Leistungen drumherum) einen Preis drankleben, man kann es auch lassen und sich eine "Wirtschaft" insgesamt ohne Preise vorstellen - gewissermaßen als die andere mögliche Extension Freier Software. Diese Lesart bevorzuge ich:-)
