heute bekamen wir die Nachricht, dass die FSFE den Aufruf (www.FreiheitstattAngst.de) zu unserer Demo offiziell mitträgt.
Zwar ist nun Datenschutz keines der primären Themen der Bürgerrechtsarbeit der Free Software Foundation Europe, doch gründen sowohl das Engagement für Freie Software als auch die Arbeit für Datenschutz auf einer gemeinsamen Vorstellung einer freien Wissengesellschaft mit starken Bürgerrechten.
Wir freuen uns daher besonders, dass sich die FSFE dazu entschlossen hat, den Aufruf zu unterstützen, obwohl er thematisch eben nur mittelbar in Verbindung mit Freier Software steht. Wir würden uns außerdem freuen, wenn ihr zur Demo kommt :) oder sogar dafür - z.B. mit einem Banner auf eurem Blog - Werbung macht. Kurzversion des Aufrufs:
Bürgerrechtler rufen bundesweit zur Teilnahme an einer Demonstration gegen die ausufernde Überwachung durch Wirtschaft und Staat auf. Am Samstag, den 22. September 2007 werden besorgte Bürgerinnen und Bürger in Berlin unter dem Motto "Freiheit statt Angst - Stoppt den Überwachungswahn!" auf die Straße gehen. Treffpunkt ist der Pariser Platz (Brandenburger Tor) um 14.30 Uhr.
Der Überwachungswahn greift um sich. Staat und Unternehmen registrieren, überwachen und kontrollieren uns immer vollständiger. Egal, was wir tun, mit wem wir sprechen oder telefonieren, wohin wir uns bewegen oder fahren, mit wem wir befreundet sind, wofür wir uns interessieren, in welchen Gruppen wir engagiert sind - der "große Bruder" Staat und die "kleinen Brüder" aus der Wirtschaft wissen es immer genauer.
Wir rufen alle Bürgerinnen und Bürger auf, an der Demo teilzunehmen. Die Politiker sollen sehen, dass die Bürger für ihre Freiheiten wieder auf die Straße gehen!

Wir arbeiten dazu noch eine PM aus. Eine mittelbare Verbindung zu den Themen sehen wir schon.

Ja, das wäre prima! Ich persönlich würde hingehen, kann aber wirklich ganz hart aus nicht. :(

Mit Bannerwerbung sind wir innerhalb der FSFE sehr, sehr zurückhaltend. Die Fellows könnten das sogar noch eher aufnehmen, als die Hauptseite. Trotzdem werden Joachim und ich mal schauen, wie wir Werbung machen können. Ich habe hier auch schon einen Packen 22 Megaohm-Widerstände gekauft www.82megaohm.de ...
