LinuxMagazin 4/2002 warnt for der Ausweitung der Softwarepatente
Eigentlich sollte es selbstverständlich sein, aber die meisten Medien machen vor, wie leicht es ist auf die Nebelpolitik der EU Richtilinienschreiber hereinzufallen.
Insofern ist das LinuxMagazin _lobend_ zu erwähnen, was in dieser Ausgabe aufgeklärt vor Software Patenten durch die Richtlinie warnt.
Gleich dreimal wird das wichtige Thema angeschnitten!
1) Im Editorial schreibt Jan Kleinert:
Man muss ein wenig aufpassen, dass durchaus interessante Dinge wie die Bundestux-Initiative unsere Aufmerksamkeit nicht von im schlechteren Sinne Bahn brechenden politischen Ereignissen ablenken: Unglaublich ägerliche ist, dass die EU_kommission europaweit Software patentierbar machen will (Seite 20). Die Gefahr ist groß, dass Ihr Richtlinenvorschlag ungehindert das Parlament passiert. Ab wird jedes leicht überdurchschnittliche Code-Schnipselchen patentier- und für Entwickler offener und freier Software unerreichbar."
2) Auf Seite 20 der überarbeitet gute Bericht von Ulrich Wolf, welchen es schon online gab:

... Wird die Richtlinie aber entsprechend dem Wortlaut umgesetzt, stehen Softwarepatenten aller Art die Türen weit offen. 3) Seite 22: Anscheinend den Platz eines Aprilscherz einnehmend, ein Kommentar "Nicht zum Scheren aufgelegt" von Ulrich Wolf:
... Doch kaum einen in der IT-Welt scheint es zu interessieren. Ein Bug im IE findet mehr Interesse als ein von den Konzernen gewünschtes "Feature" in Gesetzestexten. Dabei besteht die reale Gefahr, dass beispielsweise die neue Patentrichtline aus Brüssel den Open-Source-Projekten derart viele Knüppel zwischen die Beine wirft, das einige ins Straucheln, wenn nicht sogar zu Fall kommen. ...
