Richard Stallman Rede über Philosophie und Geschichte Freier Software in Berlin
Am Montag dem 18. Feburar um 19:00 Uhr wird Richard M. Stallman, Gründer des GNU-Projekts und der FSF, eine Rede im Mediacentre - Atrium, Johannisstrasse 20, in 10117 Berlin-Mitte geben. Er wird über die Geschichte und die Philosophie F reier Software sprechen. Die Berlin Fellowship Gruppe wird mit einem Stand vertreten sein und Besucher über die lokale Gruppe und die Arbeit der FSFE in Deutschland und Europa informieren. Einlass beginnt um 18:30 Uhr. Der Eintrittspreis beträgt 5 EUR.

Ich überlege noch, was für Flyer wir bei der Veranstaltung haben wollen. Was mich jetzt interessieren würde: Was denkt ihr, was die Leute nach der Veranstaltung gerne an Informationen zum mit nach Hause nehmen hätte??

ich denke die interessanteste Information wäre a) eine Zusammenfassung zu freier Software und b) Infos, was man gemeinsam tun kann, damit sie sich verbreitet und c) wie ich selbst auf dem Weg zu freier Software vorankomme.
Eine wirklich super Sache finde ich für den Übergang z.B. PortableApps.com und dort die freie, protable Software. Da wird nichts in die Registry geschrieben, alles bleibt in einem Ordner und man kann verschiedene Programme einfach mal auf seinem Windows oder Mac Rechner austesten, damit spielen (wenn man noch nicht bereit ist das System auszutauschen).
Ich arbeite z.B. bis auf den mobile DSL connector von Vodafone nur noch mit freier Software im PortableApps Modus. So kann ich alle meine Daten überall hinnehmen. Und wenn ich irgendwann mal die Zeit habe noch Linux zu installieren und ohne Probleme anzuwenden (was eben bislang immer an der Zeit scheitert, weil man sich intensiver damit ausseinander setzen muss, um Fehler zu beheben etc, aber auch z.B. an der mobile DSL Card), dann werde ich diesen Schritt auch machen. Zwischenzeitlich hatte ich dafür ja sogar ein zweites Notebook, aber bislang packe ich es einfach nicht :(
Aber ist ist wirklich super, bis auf das Grundsystem nur noch mit freier Software zu arbeiten. Und das lässt sich eben zum ausprobieren, wenn man nicht viel Zeit hat, sehr gut mit den portablen Applikationen umsetzen.
Vielleicht könnten wir da selbst eine Portable Freie Software Suite für Windows und Macs zusammenstellen, neben den Linux Live CDs?

Mich persönlich reizt mich das nicht so. Ich hab im Moment genug nicht-technische Arbeit vor mir. Für mich hat die politische Arbeit im Moment eine höhere Priorität.

Kann ich gut verstehen. Allerdings könnten wir das sehr abkürzen, wie ich vorhin gerade gesehen habe. PortableApps arbeitet zwar noch an seiner Linux Version, jedoch gibt es scheinbar eine sehr gut funktionierende Sammlung für den USB Stick samt Linux:

Das ISO kann man sicher noch ein paar mal schnell brennen. Zur Not kann ich das auch machen und dann für den Infostand mitbringen. Besser wäre aber, wenn die Gruppe bescheid weiss, sonst könnt ihr damit dann vor Ort thematisch nichts anfangen.
Also einfach mal in der Vorbereitungsgruppe ansprechen und ich brenne es ein paar mal. Vielleicht mag ja auch jemand mit testen.
