eine kurze Kritik zu dem Artikel von mir. Ich gehe nur auf die zitierten Passagen ein, habe aber den gesamten TAZ-Artikel gelesen.

Diese Einleitung finde ich sehr schön, aber sieh riecht ein wenig nach FUD. Es fehlen konkrete Beispiele, und dass man zumindest erwähnt, dass bei Ausnutzung all dieser Möglichkeiten gleich mehrere Straftaten zusammen kommen.

Denn dass die Gewährleistung nicht so einfach erlischt, ist doch eigentlich klar. Aber die Gewährleistung hat doch einen viel, viel kürzeren Zeitraum als die Garantie.

Ich denke nicht, dass solch einseitige Argumentation mehr Leute überzeugt, sondern befürchte eher, dass man sich dadurch - unnötigerweise! - viel zu leicht angreifbar macht.

Danke für die Hinweise. Das war mir in der Tat nicht klar, wie groß der Bereich ist, den die Gewährleistung umfasst.
Daher finde ich es aber umso wichtiger, dass aufklärerisch arbeitende Artikel darauf eingehen, und nicht einfach nur von Gewährleistung reden. Da fragt man sich als einfacher Leser doch zwangsläufig, was denn nun mit der Garantie ist und ob der Artikel da irgendwas "verschweigt".

Das ist ein weiteres wichtiges Gegenargument, auf das man eingehen sollte. Denn für den Normalkunden, der ein freies Android einfach mal ausprobieren will, kann das schon als Einschränkung empfunden werden, wenn sich dieser im Schadensfall erst einmal mit dem Händler über Gewährleistung vs. Garantie streiten müsste.
Aber diese Form der Diskriminierung von Freier Software erleben wir ja leider auch in anderen Bereichen (z.B. Laptops). Oder hat sich das inzwischen gebessert? Ich meine, das Aufspielen eines anderen Betriebssystems wurde einige Zeit lang mit dem Herumschrauben an versiegelten Hardware-Elementen gleichgesetzt, oder täusche ich mich da?

Verstehe nicht, was daran FUD sein soll. Was meinst Du mit Straftaten? Ich habe beschrieben, was so ein Mobiltelefon alles technisch kann und sage, dass nicht einige wenige diese Computer kontrollieren sollen.

Ich kann auch nicht nachvollziehen, was an dem Artikel "ideologisch" ist. Aber vielleicht habe ich mit dem Begriff generell ein Verständnis-Problem. Was ist mit Artikel, die tolle neue Funktionen beschreiben ohne auf die politichen Auswirkungen einzugehen? Sind die auch "ideologisch"?

Verstehe nicht, was daran FUD sein soll. Was meinst Du mit Straftaten? Ich habe beschrieben, was so ein Mobiltelefon alles technisch kann und sage, dass nicht einige wenige diese Computer kontrollieren sollen.
Na, die obige Aussage enthält doch Andeutungen, dass Kontrolle über diese vielen "mächtigen Maschinen" zu Missbrauch führen kann. Angesichts der aufgezählten Möglichkeiten sind offenbar Dinge gemeint wie: Eindringen in fremde Computersysteme, Abhören per Mikrophon, Erfassung von Bewegungsabläufen via GPS, Videoüberwachung über die Kamera, Versenden von SMS unter falschem Namen, Manipulation von empfangenen Nachrichten, Abhören/Stören von Telefonaten, u.s.w.
Wenn dieser Missbrauch jedoch tatsächlich stattfindet, dann sind das zum Teil Straftaten - also nichts, was man einfach so nebenher tut.

Ja, diese Dinge, die Du beschreibst können einfach passieren, wenn jemand anders die Kontrolle darüber hat. Wenn Du sie selbst hast, ist es schwerer für andere Deinen Computer und Deine Daten zu mißbrauchen.

Ich denke nicht, dass die einzige Alternative zur einseitigen Argumentation ein Fachvortrag ist.
Ich denke der Artikel ist im Gesamtkontext was in Zeitungen steht vollkommen ok (und ich finde ihn auch so, wie er ist gut und finde die Diskussion hier gerade Meckern auf hohem Niveau von uns). Wie viele Artikel gibt es in Zeitungen in denen das neue iPhone 1000 oder Android Universium angepriesen wird? Steht dort etwas davon, was man tun muss um die Kontrolle über das Telefon zu bekommen? Steht dort etwas auf welchen Servern die Daten liegen, die so toll synchronisiert werden? Wie viel steht dort kritisches über die Software? Zum Datenschutz?
Vereinfacht: Wenn Dich ein Journalist um ein Zitat für einen Artikel fragt und Du ihm 3 Stunden lang einen Fachvortrag hälst, dann bist Du nicht in der Zeitung. Dann sind nur die anderen Ansichten in der Zeitung und Deine eigenen Texte werden weniger gefunden.
Lass uns die Zeit hier darauf verwenden, dass wir unsere Ressourcen verbessern: Schau mal über freeyourandroid.org und versuch zusammen mit dem Team diese Seiten zu verbessern. Dort können wir es besser zusammenfassen wie in drei Sätzen Zitat in einer Zeitung und wir können alles selbst schreiben.
