Vedische Mathematik — indische Rechentricks oder das Kamasutra der Mathematik
ist das Thema von Lars Fischer.
Vedische Mathematik oder Vedic Math ist der Oberbegriff für eine Sammlung von Algorithmen bzw. Verfahren, die sich auf viele Bereiche der Mathematik anwenden lassen. In dem Vortrag wird er auf einige Verfahren eingehen, die sich für das Multiplizieren (sowohl schriftlich, als auch im Kopf) eignen.
Selbst wer kein Interesse an Mathematik oder Kopfrechnen hat, kann in dem Vortrag erfahren, was passiert, wenn man ein bekanntes Thema aus einem komplett anderen Blickwinkel betrachtet.
Die Verfahren der vedischen Mathematik sind nämlich grundverschieden von dem Verfahren zur schriftlichen Multiplikation, das wir aus der Schule kennen. Ihr Schwerpunkt liegt auf kompakten einzeiligen Zwischenergebnissen. Deswegen muss man sich beim Kopfrechnen weniger Ziffern merken, als wie bei dem konventionellen Verfahren.
Neben allgemeinen Verfahren umfasst die vedische Mathematik auch Verfahren für speziellen Situationen, die dann aber sofort ein Ergebnis liefern. Zum Beispiel für Multiplikation mit 11: wollen wir 17 * 11 rechnen, so müssen wir nur die Summe von 1 und 7 zwischen die 1 und 7 setzen: 11 * 17 = 1 8 7 , 11 * 24 = 2 6 4, usw..
