Die Free Software Foundation Europe (FSFE) drängt ebenfalls darauf, mögliche größere IT-Probleme in München zunächst genauer zu untersuchen. Diese könnten etwa an bestehenden Strukturen, vorhandener veralteter Hardware, bürokratischen Verfahren und mangelnder Kommunikationsbereitschaft zwischen einzelnen Verwaltungsabteilungen liegen, konstatierte ein Sprecher der Vereinigung. Die Kritik an der Verwendung von offenen Dokumentstandards (im ursprünglichen Artikel der "Süddeutschen") ist natürlich traurig.

Es gibt bei der Stadt keine Groupware, nur einzelne eMail-, Verzeichnis und Kalendersysteme aus der letzten Dekade.
Auf der Client-Seite kommt Thunderbird zum Einsatz, aber AFAIK nur für Mail, ggf. noch LDAP-Anbindung für die Kontakte. Mehr aber auch nicht.
Die Ausschreibung für eine neue Groupware wurde erst im Februar 2014 beendet, den Zuschlag bekam ein Konsortium um die Free Software-Lösung Kolab. [1] Diese wird aktuell für München implementiert. Daher gibt es (noch) keine Groupwarelösung für den LiMux-Desktop.

Um logische Begründungen geht es hier nicht, nur um solche, die sich irgendwie verkaufen lassen. Es handelt sich ja nicht um eine logische sondern eine politische Vorgehensweise.
--> Es hilft nur, ebenfalls politisch zu agieren, Druck aufzubauen.

Stimmt schon - aber auf logische Ungereimtheiten hinzuweisen, kann auch manchmal hilfreich sein, z.B. in (Hintergrund-)Gesprächen mit Journalisten.

Da kann es allerdings hilfreich sein. Wir sollten allerdings nicht denken, dass politische Entscheidungen überdacht werden, nur weil sie unbegründet sind. Dann hätte es z.B. nie einen (2.) Irak-Krieg gegeben. Wir müssten versuchen, möglichst viele Münchener zu mobilisieren, das wäre meiner Meinung nach zielführend.

Davon, dass er es nicht gewusst hat, ist nicht auszugehen. In Anbetracht seiner Antworten auf die Fragen vom AYC [2] scheint er allgemein "gut" über die IT-Belange informiert zu sein.
Eine Ähnliche Aussage zu seinem Smartphone im Wortlaut gibt es auch unter [1], such nach LiMux.
Er sagt nicht, dass es an LiMux liegt, stellt es aber so dar. Woher die SZ im neueren Artikel die Aussage genommen hat ist mir nicht bekannt.

Meines Erachtens nicht, wenn es denn stimmt, dass es keine Groupware gibt.

Als Argument gegen Linux wäre das natürlich ungeeignet, aber als Argument gegen LiMux nicht. Wenn das Projekt Limux wirklich meinte, ohne eine Groupware auskommen zu können, war das blauäugig - jede/r Manager/in meint, eine Groupware brauchen zu müssen, und ich will das gar nicht bewerten, gerne aber daraus ableiten, das das Fehlen einer Implementierung derselben sträflich vernachlässigend ist.
Ich glaube aber, dass die Gemengelage etwas diffizieler ist, als hier oder in der allgemeinen Presse dargestellt ist; dass also die Frage der Groupware keine ist, die nur aus 2013/14 stammt, sondern in früheren Jahren schon Antworten erforderte und bekam. Aber das ist Spekulation, die jemand aus dem LiMux-Umfeld aufklären könnte, bitteschön. Dankeschön.

Ich fürchte Michael hat mit seiner Einschätzung recht, es geht hier nicht mehr (oder ging vielleicht auch nie) um technische Aspekte sondern um politische Ränkespielchen. Bei solchen Machenschaften sind die Handlungsmotivationen der Beteiligten ja meist schwer zu durchschauen. Die Info von Christian zur Anschaffung einer Groupware gibt aber Mut zur Hoffnung. Verwaltungen funktionieren ja überall gleich, ;) ist etwas ernsthaft in Zweifel gezogen so wird erstmal alles drumherum gestoppt, das scheint ja bei LiMux noch nicht der Fall zu sein.
@Matthias, ich denke wir sehen uns auf der FrOSCon, bist Du nur Samstag dort?

Josef Schmid (CSU), Zweiter Bürgermeister Münchens, übt bei Heise erneut Kritik an dem Limux-Projekt. Diese wirkt aber technisch wenig informiert und vermischt verschiedene IT-Projekte Münchens.
