Nein, die _dürfen_ auch aus meiner Sicht nicht völlig ausgeblendet werden.
Auf den Videos, die Luke angefertigt hat, schien aber der Start des Systems, des Browsers und von Libreoffice recht flott. Solange es das System nicht gibt und man in der Praxis nachvollziehen kann, ob der Preis der Freiheit hier zu groß ist, sind Eure Bedenken selbstverständlich berechtigt.
Was die finanzielle Frage angeht stimme ich zu, allerdings auch mit der Einschränkung, dass Freiheit bezahlbar sein muss - sonst nutzt sie den meisten auch wenig.
Stimmt natürlich. Ich unterscheide aber einen Beitrag, der es möglich macht, daß gewünschte System auf den Weg zu bringen, und den Preis, den es danach kostet.
Ich finde, daher sollten wir auch die Aspekte der Realisiserung der Freiheit diskutieren, denn allein die theoretische Möglichkeit ist zu wenig.

Ich habe aber auch den Aspekt der Freiheit angeschnitten und gesagt, dass der A20 SoC eben nicht frei ist und dies seitens des EOMA68 Projekts nur dadurch kaschiert wird, dass die unfreien Bestandteile nicht genutzt werden. Die FSF stuft das System als System als "with serious flaws" ein[1]. Abgesehen davon, dass es derzeit kein SoC System gibt, welches keine oder nur geringe Fehler hat.
Ich sehe nicht, dass das kaschiert wird. Das Problem wird doch offen angesprochen und nach der begründeten Hoffnung so gelöst, daß eine RYF- Zertifizierung möglich ist. Dabei ist wohl entscheidend, daß man die unfreien Bestandteile nicht uninformiert nutzen darf.
