Für mein Software-Projekt würde ich nicht unbedingt auf Google setzen wollen. Gibt es Alternativen?
Zusatzfrage: Habe bei meinem Provider einen root-Server gemietet. Da könnte ich sicher auch mailman o.ä. aufsetzen, scheue aber aus der Kalten etwas den Verwaltungsaufwand (hab das auch noch nicht praktisch gemacht).
Zahlreiche Dienste und self-hosting-Varianten wurden bereits genannt, der Vollständigkeit halber sei auch ezmlm(-idx) [1] (ursprünglich von D. Bernstein programmiert) erwähnt.
Auch diese Liste wird ausschließlich über die Shell konfiguriert, und kann bspw. aus den Debian-Repositories installiert werden. Die Konfigurationsmöglichkeiten sind recht vielfältig, wenn auch nicht so umfangreich wie mailman. Einige Funktionen, wie etwa der Umgang mit GnuPG, lassen sich wohl über Addons nachrüsten.
Ich betreibe ein paar Listen auf Basis von ezmlm bei dem Hostinganbieter uberspace.de, der diese bereits vorinstalliert hat und dazu auch Doku liefert [2]. Das läuft eigentlich recht sauber und super wartungsarm.
