Ein Blog-Eintrag mit bloßer Meinungsäußerung zählt für mich nicht als aufhebenswertes Kunstwerk, und kann meinetwegen sogar "All Rights Reserved" sein. Solch ein Eintrag verliert seinen Wert meist wenige Tage nach seiner Entstehung.
Aber ein langer, gut ausformulierter Blog-Eintrag, der fast an ein Tutorial, eine Howto oder eine journalistische Publikation herankommt - nun, dieser sollte von anderen verwendet und weiter ausgebaut werden können. Im einfachsten Fall zu einem Wikipedia-Artikel, im besten Fall zu einem ganzen Buch.
Das geht nicht gut mit NC, und erst recht nicht mit ND.
Was für ein Problem ist es für die Gesellschaft, wenn ein Künstler seine Musik unter CC-BY-NC stellt?
Gerade bei Musik und Animationen (Videos) sind die vier Freiheiten äußerst nützlich. Insbesondere da sie implizieren, dass man wirklich an den "Quellcode" heran kommt.
Sonst kann man das Zeug lediglich remixen, aber nicht wirklich weiterentwickeln oder Fehler korrigieren. Das Problem ist hier sicher nicht so groß wie bei Software, doch ich finde es immer jammerschade, wenn solche Werke nicht weiterentwickeln werden, weil sie der Allgemeinheit nur nur als Blackbox (gemastertes OGG bzw. gerendertes OGV) vorgesetzt bekommt.
Was für ein Problem ist es für unsere Gesellschaft, wenn ein Bild unter CC-BY-ND steht?
Ich kann es nicht als Icon in meiner GPL-Software verwenden. Ich kann es nicht in eine freie Collage, eine freie Präsentation oder ein freies Videos / eine freie Animation integrieren.
Ja, ich kann es nichtmal mit Gimp in die Mangel nehmen, um einen gutaussehenden Ausdruck davon zu erzeugen. (Farben anpassen, zurecht- schneiden, retouchieren, Rahmen hinzufügen, Symbole bzw. Worte mit einbringen, ...)
Auch hier also kein allzu großes Problem, aber irgendwie Zeit- verschwendung. Ich kann dieser Geisteshaltung einfach nichts abgewinnen. Da investiert jemand viel Freizeit in etwas, und sorgt dann durch die Lizenz dafür, dass andere so wenig wie möglich damit anfangen können.
Ich meine, was soll das? Wenn man seine Freizeit in etwas steckt, und dabei vielleicht sogar auf Vorhandenem aufbaut, dann sollte man doch ein großes Interesse daran haben, dass andere möglichst viel damit anfangen können.
Wie in der Freien Software sollte hier Kooperation die Regel sein, nicht gegenseitige Abschottung.
