Ein echter Vorteil von Open Source ist aus meiner Sicht der Umgang mit
Fehlern und Sicherheitslücken. Ist das Projekt aktive werden die Bugs
aufgenommen und dies nach besten wissen und so schnell wie möglich
beseitigt. Eine Sicherheitslücke in Proprietärer Software wird je nach
Fehler bzw. Sicherheitslücke und nach dem welchen Service Vertrag man
inne hat beseitigt oder auch nicht. Des weiteren kann man bei Open
Source selber bzw. auch jemand anders beauftragen und den Fehler zu
beseitigen.
Das ist Sicherheitstechnische ein echter Vorteil. Denn wer Behauptet es
gibt in seiner Software keine Sicherheitslücke oder Fehler lügt
schlichtweg oder hat vom Programmieren keine Ahnung.
Und für die Kritiker: Natürlich gibt es Software die sehr sehr
ausgereift ist und es ist bei diesen sehr sehr schwere fällt Fehler bzw.
Sicherheitslücke zu finden. Dennoch gibt es immer wird Lücken an Stellen
die keiner im Auge hatte.
