I can ask the ULB (French speaking Free University of Brussels, where FOSDEM takes place). I teach there and have many very good contacts.
Great! Could you do this today?
yes, I can and I will do it tomorrow. Please let me know more info so that my request makes sense.
* Who will be the public the conference is aimed at ? Students, representatives, general public, teachers, decision makers ... ?
* What is the title / subject ?
* Who will be the speakers ? RMS and other if any ?
* Who are the organizers ( I can propose FSFE + AEL + ULB represented by myself and possibly others so that the price goes to zero or nearly for the rent of the place)
* What time ? (beginning and end)
* Who will be present and assume the responsbility (you + others from ULB I could look for)
When I have a venue, then I can tell Richard that the event will happen, and then we can start to publicise the event. I'd like to do this quickly because April 1st is not far away.
OK
That's a pity. The timing is very bad, but this is the only time Richard is free.
OK
We will record the talk and publish audio and videos.
thanks
Nicolas

I have asked Richard to talk about GPLv3. I expect, and hope, that draft 3 will be out by then, so this will be an important time to talk about that topic. There haven't been any big public GPLv3 talks since November 2006, and if he gives a GPLv3 talk, I can make a transcript and help further raise awareness.
Usually his GPLv3 talk takes only 45 minutes, but I will ask him to also give an introduction to free software, which will hopefully bring the talk up to 65 or 75 minutes, plus questions and answers.
This should be of interest to the free software community, computing students, and legal students among others.
- Who will be the speakers ? RMS and other if any ?
RMS will be the only main speaker, but I would like to say a few words about the fsfe-bnl@ list and the current state of software patents, IPRED2, etc. I would only speak for 5 minutes.

Good idea, those organisations are fine.
- What time ? (beginning and end)
I think we need 2 hours, but the exact time is flexible. Is 16h-20h a good time? Richard arrives in Brussels city centre at 15h. So 17h is probably the earliest we should start (to give him some time to relax).

I will be there, and if you can find others, that would be good.
Thanks.
