I'd like to try and get Lumicall accepted as a GSoC 2013 project http://www.lumicall.org/google-summer-of-code
This means Google would pay students to work on it over the summer and all work would be contributed back to the free software community.
Help is needed:
- can anybody with Java experience offer to be part of the mentoring team?
- can anybody help with a reference from a previous GSoC participant or a Google employee?
I need to submit answers (including mentor names) to Google by tomorrow, so if you can help, please reply ASAP

I can be a reference -- the XMPP Standards Foundation has participated in most years of GSoC since the beginning (although it is not participating this year).

I believe that vouching organisations are supposed to enter the name of the organisation that they are vouching for in their application form.
Peter, Daniel, if you don't find a way for the XSF to vouch for you without an application, we can probably also help and vouch from Jitsi's application.
Cheers, Emil

That would be great, thanks Emil
Peter, would you know anyone who might volunteer to be a co-mentor for Lumicall? I've just put more notes about possible XMPP support to the project page:
