Dear Katerina,
Thanks for the update! Would your colleagues be open for more
suggestions regarding the website? For example, I wonder why none of the
points I've raised about the website encryption, external trackers, and
the blank menus have been tackled:
> - Technicalities
> - The website should be accessible via HTTPS, so with an SSL
> certificate. Otherwise visitors will see security warnings, and
> search engines may downgrade the website
The Chrome browser marks non-HTTPS sites as "not secure [^1], and such
websites also have a huge disadvantage in SEO aspects. With Let's
Encrypt we could get a certificate for free.
> - The website includes external resources from google.com, vine.co and
> twitter.com and therefore leaks visitors' data to those companies.
> In the light of GDPR and our visitors' privacy, can we disable these
> external inclusions?
If you write the Privacy Policy, please also take these external
trackers into account. If you would like to make your life easier, get
rid of them ;)
> - The menus sometimes lead to blank pages. For instance, a click on
> "FOSS4SMES" and "FOSS BUSINESS USER" in the navigation bar.
This still persists. I recommend rearranging the menus in Wordpress so
that the "FOSS4SMES" item directs to "The Project" for example to avoid
blank pages.
Best,
Max
