[Winterthur (a small city in Switzerland) wants to mandate Windows in elementary schools; local free software activists are urgently looking for help; plebiscite 2004-05-16 ]
Does anyone here know about other municipalities or school districts having similar plans? Which arguments are being used?
In the long term, it might possibly make sense to prepare something like a re-usable press/campaigning kit targeted to schools. Does such a thing already exist?
I've sent the Winterthur people a link to [1]. Unfortunately, that's all I was able to offer, given the extremely brief timeframe. If anyone wants to help them, please contact Mario Fux foxman@lugo.ch.
