I have discussed previous tests with Rod see below for responses to Shanes test. -----Original Message----- From: Shane Martin Coughlan [mailto:coughlan@fsfeurope.org] I invented a product called TestInternet. It was created under the new account 'shanemcoughlan' for the company Opendawn.
When I logged into my account for the first time I saw this page: http://www.certifiedopen.com/co_logged_in
This could do with a little cleaning and reduction of size. I think that the text should also link to the documents etc that it refers to.
***** 20071106 update - Shane - please suggest any alternate content
Welcome To Your Account
There is information on this page about creating a new submission for the programme. We recommend reading the weighting system information before submitting your product or service for review.
If you have already reviewed this information, you can add a new product submission [LINK]. Please remember that product certification information is available to all Certified Open users and do not include any personal information in your submission.
You can also view your existing certified products [LINK] or modify your account [LINK]. If you modify a product which has been certified, the product will have to be reviewed again by Certified Open.
You can contact us [LINK] if you have any questions.
The Weighting System
The certification is based on scores for each section and for the framework as a whole. In each section of the framework question are weighted according to their relative value. For example, "Perfect substitutability" would get a high score and "No substitutability" would get a low score.
The final score is based on the total for each section divided by the number of sections used to certify the product. Please complete all sections appropriate to your product. All products must complete the Business View.
- Gold certification is equal to a total score of 90% or more - Silver certification is equal to a total score of 70% or more - Bronze certification is equal to a total score of 50% or more
It is important to ensure that relevant views are not skipped in order to manipulate the points score. If applicable views are left out the applicant has three options: - Change the submission to include views that should apply - Appeal against the inclusion of the additional views - Withdraw the application
Certified Open does not use multipliers to weigh the outcome. Different questions have different numbers of answers depending on the context of the question.
You can read the Product and Services Framework [LINK] for full details of the framework, the weighting system and the terms used.
When I completed adding my new product I submitted it and I was taken back to this page: http://www.certifiedopen.com/co_logged_in I had to navigate to this page to see my score: http://www.certifiedopen.com/co_list_my_products I think this is a bug. People should be taken directly to their listing of products: http://www.certifiedopen.com/co_list_my_products
**** 20071106 - This is a bug already on outstanding list with RefLab
Good.
Also, the listing of the products should contain details of the score as well as the certification level. I was a little surprised that my product got a gold. It was a 100% all the way through until the business section, but I only gave it one level of top-tier support etc. I'd like to have seen the detailed scores.
**** 20071106 - This is a change to spec this is now on outstanding list with RefLab
Good.
Another note. I clicked around the site a little and then decided to go back into the database. I went into Product Database: http://www.certifiedopen.com/product-database Then I went to Existing Account Holders: http://www.certifiedopen.com/co_login Because I was already logged in the screen didn't contain a form. However, it was pretty blank. I would have expected to be directed to: http://www.certifiedopen.com/co_logged_in
**** 20071106 - Shane - please suggest changes to text or any other appropriate content
As stated above, the change necessary is that: When a logged-in user goes to http://www.certifiedopen.com/product-database and visits Existing Account Holders: http://www.certifiedopen.com/co_login There is a problem. Because the user is already logged in the screen didn't contain a form and is pretty blank.
Suggest that when logged in users click on 'Existing Account Holders' they are redirected to: http://www.certifiedopen.com/co_logged_in
Please ensure that any action taken on the above items is reported to the board.
Regards
Shane
